Exuma Flip Flop Recycling Project
It's a recycling project founded by medicine student Naima Nixon in 2006 when she was 10 years old. This project is unique because objects that are polluting our beaches, and ocean are collected, and get to be repurposed. Flip Flops, fins, buoys, and fishing nets are attached to every artwork. The artwork is acrylic on canvas with a unique recycled object attached.
What is Exuma Flip Flop community purpose?
To spread the word against plastic pollution through art. Also, using public speaking, social media, news paper, and television to encourage the young generation and community to protect the environment/ocean. Also, discuss facts about plastic pollution,
and encourage better practices to protect our ocean life.
How to support this project?
